Asphalt Repairs in Ridgewood Estates

Heads up for those who live in Ridgewood Estates! Our City Streets crew will be in the neighborhood beginning February 26 repairing cracks in the roadways and making your ride a little smoother. Traffic control will be on-site, with one lane of traffic open as the team makes these repairs. Daily work hours will be from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and you may see some delays throughout this project. Please plan a few extra minutes ahead of your commute as we work to improve the neighborhood’s mobility!

Drainage Maintenance on West Continental

You might notice our Public Works Drainage team around 1272 West Continental Drive, between Ridgewood Circle and Southlake Hills Drive, beginning on February 23. The crew will be doing maintenance work in the right of way near the westbound lane from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., weather permitting. Traffic will be directed to merge into the eastbound lane near the work zone, though major delays are not anticipated with this work. Please exercise caution when driving in the area and remember to drive the Southlake Way.

Gas Line Replacement on North White Chapel

An ATMOS Contractor will replace and move a gas line this week at the 1800 block of North White Chapel, just north of the 114 exit near the Southlake Animal Hospital. This work will take place from February 22nd until February 23rd, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., weather permitting. Please note that the southbound lane will be closed while they locate the water main, but access to turn onto 114 will remain open.

Water Meter Relocation on West Dove Road

To avoid any complications from upcoming construction in the area, our Water Department will be relocating a water line just west of 114 at the southwest corner of West Dove Road and Shady Oaks Drive beginning on February 22nd. Please note that the eastbound lane heading towards 114 will be partially blocked due to the heavy equipment required for this project, but flagging devices will be around the work zone to aid with traffic flow. The work hours will be from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for the duration of this work. Please exercise caution when in the area and plan a few more minutes ahead of your commute.

Southlake Town Square Meter Box Improvements

Beginning Monday, July 24, 2023, through Tuesday, July 25, 2023, Southlake Water Utilities will have concrete contractors working on replacing meter boxes along the sidewalks of Grand Avenue in Southlake Town Square, weather permitting.

Peytonville Re-location of Fiber (Spectrum) Lines

Beginning Tuesday, July 25, 2023, JMB Communications will begin replacing fiber lines for Spectrum from the 200 to the 1200 block of North Peytonville Avenue, weather permitting. Crews will be on-site Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The north and southbound lanes will be intermittently closed during this time. The project is expected to be completed by Tuesday, August 8, 2023.

Here's a look at upcoming mobility work that could affect your commutes. 

Wayfinding Pole Foundation Work 

City contractors will begin repair work on wayfinding pole foundations starting Wednesday, July 5, 2023, weather permitting. Work will occur on FM 1709 at Gateway Drive and East SH 114 at Kimball Ave.

July 5, 2023 - City contractors will remove the wayfinding sign on westbound FM 1709 at Gateway Drive, weather permitting. Expect a lane closure in the far right lane of the westbound direction.

July 10-12, 2023 - City contractors will drill and pour the concrete foundations for the wayfinding signs on westbound FM 1709 at Gateway Drive and eastbound SH 114 at Kimball Avenue. The right traffic lane at each location will be closed while crews work. 

July 25-26, 2023 - City contractors will re-install the wayfinding signs on westbound FM 1709 at Gateway Drive and eastbound SH 114 at Kimball Avenue. The right traffic lane at each location will be closed while crews work.

 

Road Reconstruction Project on Shady Oaks Road

City contractors will perform road reconstruction at Shady Oaks in front of the Marq starting Monday, July 10, 2023, through Friday, July 26, 2023, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily, weather permitting. We anticipate periodic closures of both Shady Oaks entrances to Champions Club at the Marq. Motorists should enter Bicentennial Park off of Southlake Boulevard or at Unity Way to get to Champions Club. We thank you for your patience.

May 31 - June 7

Water Improvements Along S. Pearson Lane and Union Church Road

Contractors are set to perform vacuum excavation services to locate subsurface utilities along S. Pearson Lane and Union Church Road, from FM 1709 to FM 1938, and E. Dove Road from Estes Park Drive to west of North Carroll Avenue starting Wednesday, May 31, 2023 through Wednesday, June 7, 2023, from 7 a.m. - 5 p.m., weather permitting. Shoulder work will take place during this time and should not disrupt traffic. This work is being done in anticipation of the upcoming Capital Improvement Project for waterline improvements along S. Pearson Lane and Union Church Road, E. Dove Road, and Oak Bend Court.

Storm Drain Work on Lonesome Dove Road

Water Utilities will conduct lane closures along Lonesome Dove Road to construct a storm drain pipe. The lane closures will occur from June 1, 2023, through June 9, 2023, weather and material delivery permitting.

Water Improvements Along East Dove Road and Oak Bend Court

Contractors are set to begin work on the Water Distribution System Improvements at S. Pearson Lane & Union Church Road, E. Dove Road, and Oak Bend Court on Monday, June 5, 2023. During this time, it will be necessary to temporarily disrupt traffic along S. Pearson Lane & Union Church Road, from FM 1709 to FM 1938, and E. Dove Road from Estes Park Dr. to the west of North Carroll Avenue. This work is expected to last through the Winter of 2024, weather permitting.

June 5 - 16

Road Rehab Project on Jellico Circle

Public Works and Tarrant County will begin road rehab work on Jellico Circle starting June 5, 2023. The project should continue until June 16, 2023, weather permitting. Daily hours of operation will be from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jellico Circle will remain open to through traffic throughout the project with traffic control.

Work on Deceleration Lanes at Byron Nelson and Southridge Lakes

Construction will begin in mid-May on deceleration lanes along 1709 at Byron Nelson and Southridge Lakes. Any road closures impacting these areas will be conducted between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm, weather permitting. Work is expected to be completed by the Fall.

1100 S Kimball Ave. Concrete Road Repair

City Contractors will conduct a concrete road repair at the 1100 block of South Kimball Avenue from May 8 through May 12, from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, weather permitting. The southbound right lane will be closed off before the railroad tracks until cured. We appreciate your patience.

Asphalt Repair Work at the 500 Block of S. White Chapel Blvd.

Public Works Streets Division will start asphalt repair work on the 500 block of S. White Chapel Blvd. from May 8 through May 9 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, weather permitting. Traffic will be reduced to one lane, and flaggers will be present during the repair.

S. White Chapel Boulevard Asphalt Repair
Public Works Streets Division will conduct an asphalt repair north of the Continental Boulevard and S. White Chapel roundabout from Monday, May 1, to Tuesday, May 2, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting. Flaggers will be present during the project.

Shady Oaks Drive – Water Improvements
Contractors will be on-site to perform vacuum excavation services along Shady Oaks Drive, from West Highland to Fox Glen, starting Monday, May 1, through Friday, May 5, from 7 a.m. - 5 p.m., weather permitting. This work is in anticipation of the upcoming Capital Improvement Project for waterline improvements along Shady Oaks starting in spring 2023. Shoulder work will occur during this time and should not disrupt traffic along Shady Oaks.

Forest Hills Court Concrete Road Repair
Contractors will be on-site at the 1300 block of Forest Hills Court to repair concrete starting May 1 through May 12, from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m., weather permitting. One lane of traffic will remain open throughout the project.

Utility work on Standhope Court

Southern Underground Texas utility company will be on-site at the 1200 block of Standhope Court on Saturday, March 4, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting, to connect a new sewer service to our existing infrastructure. Standhope Court will be closed for the day. A detour route will be available on Kimball Avenue, Cripple Creek Trail, and Shady Lane.

Asphalt Repair on S. White Chapel Boulevard

The Public Works Streets Division will be on-site to repair a pothole at the 300 block of S. White Chapel Boulevard on Monday, March 6, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting. One lane of traffic will remain open. Flaggers will be on-site to direct traffic. Please drive safely.

Utility Work on Grand Avenue

GD Construction Incorporated will be onsite adding to the new underground cable line in Town Square on Grand Avenue from Monday, March 6, to Thursday, March 9, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting. Contractors will start work underground from behind the Tesla store location and work their way to the rear of the Apple store. A section of parking on Grand Avenue will be closed until work is completed.

Fire Hydrant Install

GM Utilities and Concrete contractor will be adding a new water hydrant at the 1300 block of N. Kimball Avenue starting Monday, March 13, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.  One lane will be closed. The duration of this project will take two to three weeks.

SIDEWALK REPAIRS

Apex Concrete will repair settled and cracked sidewalks along the 300 and 400 blocks of Grand Avenue starting January 2, 2023, weather permitting. Work will take place from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with some night work taking place along the 200 block of Grand Avenue. Traffic will remain open. Work will continue until completion.

ROAD IMPROVEMENTS

Construction workers will begin road improvements on Lake Drive, Peninsula Drive, Lakeside Drive, Peninsula Court, and Flamingo Court in the Dove Estates Subdivision starting January 3, 2023, weather permitting. Construction work will take place from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. One lane of traffic will remain open. Please be patient while our crews work.

With the holidays approaching and foot traffic increasing it’s important to be in the know about road alerts and construction projects happening around town.

Below is a list of upcoming projects:

Roadwork on Creekside Drive

Contractors will be conducting roadway work at Creekside Drive as part of the ongoing Capital Improvement Program project starting Monday, November 14, 2022, through Friday, December 16, 2022, weather permitting. Work will take place from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Alternating closures will occur during this time, with work starting and impacting the southbound lane followed by the northbound lane. One lane of traffic will remain open at all times, and residents will be provided with temporary driveway access.

 

Water Valve Replacement

Southlake Water Utilities will replace a broken isolation water valve at the corner of Randol Mill Avenue and Morgan Road. The planned outage will take place on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This is a necessary repair for emergency preparedness.  As a friendly reminder, 11 properties have been notified earlier this week via door hangers.

Road Reconstruction Project

Reynolds Asphalt Construction will be starting Phase II of the Shady Lane Road Reconstruction Project.

Contractors will be on site starting Monday, November 28, 2022. Work is estimated to be completed by Friday, December 16, 2022, weather permitting. Once Phase II is complete, work will commence in 2023. Contractors will overlay a 2-inch surface finish of asphalt from the Kimball Avenue entrance to SH 114 service road.

Our Public Works team and their contractors are gearing up to work on several projects around town. Here's what you need to know before you head out on your daily commute.

Gas Main Work

Contractors will begin work relocating a gas main line on Friday, November 4, 2022, at Peytonville Avenue and Raven Bend Court, weather permitting. The southbound turning lane of Peytonville Avenue will be closed. Please seek alternate routes.

Southlake Park Water Line Improvements

A City contractor will start on a water line extension at the Southlake Park Subdivision by the intersection of Briar Lane and Woodland Drive, continuing to Crescent Drive. Construction will begin the week of November 7, 2022, and will last three to five weeks, weather permitting. Shoulder work will take place during typical work hours, and partial road closures may be possible.

 

Sidewalk Replacement

Apex Concrete Construction will be removing and replacing the sidewalk in front of 1460 Main Street and also Altar'd State Clothing Store starting Wednesday, November 9, 2022, and will continue until the project is complete, weather permitting. Construction will occur during the day. Excavation and replacement of the curb and gutter will begin Sunday night, November 13, 2022, in front of the entrances located at 1460 and 1450 Main Street. The project is expected to be completed by November 18, 2022.
