From Fall Volleyball to Flag Football, our teams dedicate their time to providing world-class experiences and instilling the love of sports in our young athletes. Here is a recap of the Fall activities of the Athletics Division.

Fall Under the Light Flag Football 2022:
Our Flag Football Playoffs were held on November 13 after two weeks of postponement due to the weather! A huge thank you to the entire Community Services team that worked together to help make this event possible for our athletes!

This season we had a total of 487 participants, 30 more than in Fall 2021! Another change this year was that Athletics implemented subdivisions for each grade division. These subdivisions are separated into Competitive and Recreational teams. The competitive side was eligible to qualify for the National Tournament to be held in San Antonio in December.

  • Kinder-2nd Grade Competitive Championship was between the Chicago Bears vs. Pittsburgh Steelers with a final score of 14-13 in favor of the Bears. The Bears qualified for Nationals!
  • 3rd-4th Grade Competitive Championship was between the Las Vegas Raiders vs. Baltimore Ravens with a final score of 39-13 in favor of the Raiders. The Raiders qualified for Nationals!
  • 5th-6th Grade Competitive Championship was between the Dallas Cowboys vs. Kansas City Chiefs with a final score of 27-12 in favor of the Cowboys. The Cowboys qualified for Nationals!
  • 3rd-4th Grade Recreational Championship was between the Los Angeles Chargers and Detroit Lions. The final score was 20-12 in favor of the Chargers.
  • 5th-6th Grade Recreational Championship was between the Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Rams with a final score of 39-6 in favor of the Vikings.

October E-Sports
Athletics hosted its second E-Sports event on October 26! This program attracted 20-25 teens to play NBA 2K23, Madden 23, and Super Smash Bros Ultimate! Participants enjoyed eating pizza, hanging out with friends, playing games, and dropping touchdowns and 3-pointers! Their feedback suggested that teens would enjoy more events like this in the future. Our Athletics team is already working on re-introducing teen programming for our residents.

The athletic season isn't over yet! The Athletics Team is now turning its attention to Winter Basketball. Congratulations to the Athletics staff that made Volleyball, Flag Football, and E-Sports such a success, and best of luck with Basketball! Our Southlake athletes are lucky to have such a dedicated team.
