Southlake is home to several parks and trails that can be explored year-round. Whether you’re a first-time hiker or a nature lover, taking a hike can help boost your mood, de-stress and enhance your overall well-being.

Although spending time in the good ole outdoors is a convenient way to improve your health, a level of preparation is required.

Below are five tips to get you started:

  1. Bring a water bottle – staying hydrated is essential when working out.
  2. Wear closed toe shoes – wearing closed toe shoes helps to protect your toes and provides sturdy ankle support for the journey ahead.
  3. Bring a buddy – buddies can help navigate, take pictures and keep you safe.
  4. Stay on the trail – staying on trail allows you to navigate safely and away from unknown threats.
  5. Dress in layers – dressing in layers can protect the body from inclement weather.

Now that you’re ready to “get your hike on” you can explore one of our parks by visiting www.ExperienceSouthlake.com. Let’s get hiking!
