This week, the City of Southlake hosted Employee Appreciation Week 2024.

Employee Appreciation Week officially began on February 12th, kicking off a week dedicated to celebrating what it means to serve the Southlake Way. This year’s theme, Rockstars, aimed to highlight the stellar employees who rock the Southlake stage and go above and beyond in the spotlight of service.

Standout employees from each department, as well as those who most exemplify our values, were honored at the annual awards ceremony to show appreciation for their hard work.

Director's Awards-

The Director’s Award is reserved for the standout employee in each department who exemplifies leadership, is always lending a helping hand, and constantly pushes their team to be better.

Values Awards- 

Southlake’s core values are truly what sets the City apart. The Values awards honor the employees that exemplify what it means to serve with integrity, innovation, accountability, excellence, and teamwork.

Innovation: The Community Services Onboarding Improvements team recognized the need for a more comprehensive onboarding experience for new employees, brainstorming ways to equip staff with the necessary training required to serve efficiently.

Teamwork: The 114 Trash Monitoring Team, comprised of members from Planning and Development, Parks and Recreation, and Public Works, earned the Teamwork award for their dedication to patrolling 114 and picking up trash when necessary. This collaborative effort helps keep our City beautiful and our roadways clear.

Spirit of Southlake- 

This award honors the employee that exemplifies all of the Southlake values and serves as a shining example of what it truly means to serve the Southlake Way. They are a positive figure in the City, both internally and externally, and are an all-around outstanding employee.

Kristin Pitzinger Customer Service Award-

The Kristin Pitzinger Customer Service Award is named after the late City employee Kristin Pitzinger and honors the employees who exemplify outstanding customer service.
