People First, Every Time

HR Business Partner Erika McClure's commitment to the people of Team Southlake is what makes great service to our community possible.

When Southlake residents call on their city, they interact with employees who are prepared, supported, and well-equipped to help, and this all starts with the people responsible for building and sustaining the workforce behind every city service.

Erika McClure is one of those people. As an HR Business Partner for the City of Southlake, she works alongside department leaders across the organization to ensure that the right people are hired, supported, and set up to succeed in serving our community. For that work — and the values she brings to it every day — McClure has been named the 2026 recipient of the Employee Performance Director’s Administration Award.

The connection between HR work and resident experience is not always obvious — but it is meaningful. Erika’s work supports the city’s ongoing commitment to building teams that are prepared, caring, and ready to serve. That commitment to getting the people side right is at the heart of everything she does.

Erika is described as someone who anticipates what others need before they ask — offering thoughtful guidance and practical solutions while balancing professionalism with genuine care for people. That combination is what sets her apart.

“When our teams are supported and set up to do their best work, that’s what residents feel when they interact with us. That’s what I care about most.”

— Erika McClure, HR Business Partner

Whether she is guiding a job candidate through the application process or helping a hiring manager think through the structure of a new position, McClure brings steady judgment and a sincere commitment to doing right by people. Her work happens largely behind the scenes — but its effects ripple outward, all the way to the residents of Southlake.

The City of Southlake is proud to recognize Erika McClure with the 2026 Employee Performance Director’s Administration Award.
