This award is not just in recognition of the past year’s achievements, but also a reflection of the library’s continuous dedication to serving its community with distinction. The Texas Municipal Library Director’s Association, an affiliate of the Texas Municipal League with over 1,100 member cities, annually confers the Achievement in Library Excellence award. The TMLDA’s criteria for the award are comprehensive, demanding excellence across ten service areas, including outreach to underserved populations, innovative marketing, community collaboration, service enhancements, literacy support, digital inclusion, workforce development, cultural programming, professional staff training, and other initiatives that contribute to library excellence.
