Stop the Drips, Save the Drops: Join Fix a Leak Week!

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), household leaks can account for nearly 10,000 gallons of water wasted every year.

Fix a Leak Week, taking place March 18th through March 24th, aims to empower families to take proactive steps to identify leaks, save money, and conserve water.

By promptly addressing leaks, Southlake residents can play a crucial role in preserving our precious water resources. Participating in Fix a Leak Week is easy! Just follow these simple steps:

Check for Leaks:

Take a quick tour around your home to inspect faucets, showerheads, toilets, and outdoor irrigation systems for any signs of leaks. Even small drips can lead to substantial water loss over time!

Repair or Replace:

Once identified, address leaks promptly by repairing faulty fixtures or replacing worn-out components. Simple fixes like replacing worn washers or tightening connections can often resolve minor leaks.

Upgrade to Water-Efficient Fixtures:

Investing in water-efficient appliances and fixtures can minimize long term water waste! These could include low-flow toilets, aerated faucets, and more.

Monitor Water Usages:

Keeping track of your water usage is easy with the Eye on Water app. This helps detect any sudden increases in water use, which could indicate an undetected leak.

Want to learn even more tips? Visit the EPA website for more information and resources on how to detect and fix leaks.

By taking these proactive steps to address leaks, Southlake residents can make a significant impact on water conservation efforts, contributing to a more sustainable future for our community and beyond. Let’s unite during National Fix a Leak Week and make every drop count for a more sustainable future!
