Welcome Letter from Carroll AP Boosters

The Carroll AP Booster Club would like to welcome you to the 2013-2014 school year!  Our club exists to ensure all students have the opportunity to experience an advanced education by providing financial support to the district, volunteer help and information to the community about advanced academics, thus promoting a foundation to support our high-achieving students and the district’s AP program.  Here are a few items we would like to share regarding the Carroll AP Booster Club:

  • Membership dues and fundraising monies directly support AP, pre-AP and Honors classes and teachers at EIS, DIS, DMS, CMS, CHS and CSHS.
  • Carroll AP Boosters awarded $13,320.00 in grants benefitting grades 5-12 during the previous school year.
  • Three $1,000.00 scholarships were awarded to seniors in the spring of 2013.
  • Carroll AP Boosters is primarily funded through its membership dues and our annual football ticket raffle.

The district continues to add AP and pre-AP course offerings each year at the middle and high school levels.  In addition, students in Carroll ISD are taking greater numbers of AP classes and exams earlier, increasing overall achievement and posting higher scores on the AP exams.

Your financial support is paramount to the success of this program as the College Board has reduced its funding to our district.  The College Board used to provide funding due to our outstanding AP exam scores and for teacher training; however, that funding was eliminated two years ago.  The Carroll AP Booster Club funding has been providing supplemental classroom materials, teacher training and student enrichment.

We sincerely appreciate everyone’s membership and donations and invite everyone to join our club so we may continue to provide funding directly to our students’ classrooms.  We welcome the opportunity to be introduced to local businesses interested in supporting higher education.  If you or your business would like to support the Carroll AP Booster Club, please contact our board members.   Contact information can be found at www.dragonap.org.

If you have any questions or are interested in becoming more involved by joining our board or volunteering, please contact our board members and visit our website at www.dragonap.org.

Thank you in advance for your support!
