Dragon Quarterback Named District 5-6A Most Valuable Player


Dragon QB Mason Holmes

Carroll Dragon senior quarterback Mason Holmes finished his career with the highest honor in District 5-6A.

After leading the Dragons to the district title and a 10-2 record, the signal caller was named the district’s Most Valuable Player.

Dragons Earn Top Spots on All-District 7-6A Baseball List

The Carroll Dragon baseball team was well represented on the All-District 7-6A teams.

Dragon senior pitcher Matthew Canterino, a Rice signee, was chosen Co-Pitcher of the Year with Coppell’s John Kodros. Canterino (pictured above) went 7-1 with a 0.64 ERA.

First-team Dragon selections included junior pitcher Kole Ramage, senior shortstop Hudson Sanchez and senior left fielder Zach Farrar. Second-team selections included junior catcher Ross Cadena and junior right fielder Jake Murphy.

Ramage went 8-2 and led the Dragons in victories. Sanchez hit .374 with six home runs and 29 RBI (all team highs).  Farrar hit .298, while Cadena hit .299 with a team-high eight doubles and Murphy hit .295 and 13 RBI.

Coppell pitcher/third baseman Ray Gaither was chosen District MVP.

All-District 4-5A: Dragons Grab Highest Honors

The All-District 4-5A football selections have been released and the Carroll Dragons are well represented and swept the top awards.

Dragon quarterback Kenny Hill was named 4-5A’s Most Valuable Player and safety Tanner Jacobson was named Defensive MVP.  Carroll defensive lineman King Newton was named Defensive Newcomer of the Year and kicker Drew Brown was named Special Teams MVP.
