Carroll defeated Waco Midway 3-2 and 6-1 to advance in the area series played at Glen Rose High School last week. In Game 2, sophomore left-hander Cutter Sippel silenced Midway as he scattered seven hits over a complete game. The Dragons scored three runs combined in the first two innings for all the cushion Sippel would need.
Carroll advances to face Allen in a best-of-three series starting Thursday at Dallas Baptist University.
Dragon designated hitter Wyatt Stapp led the Dragons with two hits and had three RBI and Ross Cadena added one RBI.
In Game 1, Ryne Ryskoski and Cadena each had two hits apiece to pace the Dragons. Arkansas signee Kole Ramage got the victory on the mound tossing a complete game and had seven strikeouts.

The Dragons produced their performance in the program’s history with a second-place finish at the State Dual Championship.

Next Friday’s Carroll vs. Allen game at Dragon Stadium is expected to draw a sold out crowd. With this, Carroll ISD is offering shuttle service for all fans attending the game. Buses will run beginning at 6 p.m. from the The King’s University at Gateway campus located on 1709, across from Panera Bread. The parking lot has approximately 2,500 spaces. Buses will run until kickoff and one bus will be on call during the game. Buses will be offering return service midway through the fourth quarter up to 30 minutes after the game.

Welcome to Dragon Football 2012. The Dragons open the season Friday, Aug. 31 at Allen as both teams unveil the new 18,000-seat stadium. The anticipation for the game has been building all summer and the defending state champion Dragons enter as the No. 1-ranked Class 5A team in state.
The demand for tickets has been furious. Early Tuesday morning a long line formed at Dragon Stadium to purchase tickets. A few hundred tickets remain available at Carroll Senior High School and Carroll High School as of Friday morning. Allen is sold out of tickets.
Follow the Carroll-Allen game live on the radio at KWRD 100.7 -FM, The Word. All games will be preceded with a one-hour Countdown to Kickoff at 6:30 p.m. followed by a 45-minute post-game show. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. Gates open at 6 p.m. Parking lots open at 3 p.m. Gates C & D are the visiting team gates. Dragon fans are welcome to enter any of the gates to the stadium and will be able to walk through the concourse to get to their seats.
Reserved seating for Dragon fans is located in Sections 120, 121 and 122. General seating is located in Section 119. Dragons students section is Section 123. No backpacks or outside drinks are allowed in the stadium. Body painting is not permitted and all students must wear shirts.

Allen’s new Eagle Stadium Information
The Carroll Dragon football team has released its 2012 schedule. The defending Class 5A Division I state champions will open the season on the road Friday, Aug. 31 at Allen. The matchup features the opening of Allen’s new stadium.
Carroll’s home opener will be the following week on Friday, Sept. 7 against the Midland Bulldogs. It will mark the first meeting between the two teams. The final non-district game will be against Temple on Friday, Sept. 14 at Cowboys Stadium as the featured high school game in the NCAA Division II Lone Star Conference Showcase.
The Dragons will have a bye week Friday, Sept. 21 before beginning play in the newly-aligned District 4-5A at Keller Central. Carroll will also host three consecutive home games in district against Keller Timber Creek, Richland (Homecoming) and Northwest. Senior Night will be Friday, Nov. 2 against Fossil Ridge. The 2012 regular season concludes on Thursday, Nov. 8 at Haltom.
Fans will have a sneak peek of the 2012 Dragons at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 24 in the annual Spring Game at Dragon Stadium. The game concludes spring workouts which began April 30. During last year’s state championship run, the Dragon went 16-0 and earned the program’s eighth state title, tying a state record.
