Carroll AP Boosters Announce Scholarship Winners

The Carroll AP Boosters recently announced the winners of this year’s scholarships. The Boosters award four scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each to graduation Carroll ISD Seniors. This year’s winners were announced at the Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees on Monday, May 19.

This year’s winners are Kate Fisher, Alexa Hassien andCyndi Huang who will all be attending the University of Texas at Austin. Reid Long also received a scholarship. He will be attending Carnegie Mellon in the fall.

The Carroll AP Boosters say this scholarship program would not successful without the support of sponsors. This year’s sponsors are: Julie Bird of Cornerstone Wealth; Nancy Dennis of Briggs Freeman Realtor;  Betty Wise of Testwise; Frost Bank, Dr. Prost of Endocrine & Thyroid Center; Dragon Storage; Cobalt Mortgage and Doctors Express.

Superintendent Faltys Accepts Grant from Carroll AP Boosters

The Carroll ISD AP Boosters say the 2012-13 school year has been a success so far because of increased member support.

On Monday, Jan. 14, Carroll ISD Superintendent Dr. David Faltys received a grant from the AP Boosters in the amount of $13,650.03. The money will be distributed among many AP and Pre-AP teachers from six CISD campuses where the rigorous AP curriculum is being offered. Those schools include, Durham Intermediate, Eubanks Intermediate, Carroll Middle, Dawson Middle, Carroll High and Carroll Senior High Schools.

The AP Boosters extend their thanks to all booster members. The club says without member support, the AP Boosters would not be able to assist Carroll teachers enhance their teaching.

Fundraiser Offers Grand Prize for Football Fans

The Carroll ISD AP Booster Club announced details for this year’s annual fall fundraiser. The non-profit organization is hoping the campaign will raise money to pay for Classroom Enrichment Grants and Scholarships for Carroll ISD teachers and students.

This year’s fundraiser features a random drawing for the grand prize of 2 Reserve Seats and a VIP Reserved Parking Spot for the 2012 Dragon Varsity Home Football Season. Tickets for the drawing cost $10 each or six tickets for $50. Fans can purchase as many tickets as they like to increase their chances of winning.
