DSO on the GO: Southlake

The Dallas Symphony Orchestra (DSO) announces its return to Southlake, Texas, as part of the DSO on the GO concert series. DSO on the GO is presented by Ebby Halliday, REALTORS.

Assistant Conductor Ruth Reinhardt will lead the DSO in a program of exciting classical works on April 5, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. at White’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Selections will include Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture, Prokofiev’s “Classical Symphony,” Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite and more.

Patrons may arrive early for a pre-concert lecture. It will be led by DSO Director of Education, Jamie Allen at 6:15 p.m.

DSO on the GO was launched in 2012 with a classical concert in Allen, Texas. In the 2017/18 season, DSO on the GO features the full Dallas Symphony Orchestra playing classical and pop concerts in cities and neighborhoods across North Texas. DSO on the GO concerts include familiar classical pieces and popular light classics, with concerto soloists who are principal musicians from the Dallas Symphony.

Dallas Symphony Orchestra Announces DSO on the GO: Southlake

“We are very happy to be returning to Southlake and White’s Chapel,” said Dallas Symphony Orchestra President and CEO Jonathan Martin. “We hope that the community enjoys hearing the DSO in their own neighborhood. For this concert, Alasdair Neale and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra will perform a classical program including Prokofiev’s spirited Symphony No. 1, “Classical”, and Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 4, “Italian”. The soloist for the evening is DSO Principal French horn David Cooper who will play Mozart’s Concerto No. 4 for Horn.
