The Library Foundation of Southlake Donates to the Library

The Southlake Public Library boasts new AWE Children’s Learning Stations provided by the Library Foundation of Southlake.

The Library Foundation of Southlake (LFOS) donated two new AWE stations to the Southlake Public Library. The charitable foundation’s mission is to support the Southlake Public Library through advocacy, fundraising, and engagement that delights and benefits the community. If you have ever watched children use an AWE machine, the words “delight” and “benefit” are written all over their faces!

“We are grateful for the generous donation; the kids will love the new and updated computers,” says Youth Librarian Stacy Wells.

AWE Learning provides literacy-focused digital learning solutions for early learners to inspire an enthusiasm for learning by supporting school readiness and literacy in the community. The Early Literacy Stations delivers award-winning multi-curricular content through a safe environment providing fun and interactive learning to set children on the path to success.

The new computers are pre-loaded with 85+ STREAM-aligned educational titles, AfterSchool Edge Platinum for upper elementary ages, and RoboGarden, a hands-on educational software that teaches coding literacy from scratch.

Next up for the LFOS is a children’s reading challenge which will begin in conjunction with the Summer Reading Program kickoff in May. These purchases and programs are made possible through the generous support of members of our community and the Southlake Women’s Club Foundation. For more information or to get involved, please visit libraryfs.org.
