UPDATE: May 13, 2022: Avant Chamber Ballet and Apex Arts League present a free performance of Peter and the Wolf with live music on May 15th at 2 p.m. inside the ballroom at The Marq Southlake. The show is family-friendly and welcomes all ages!
The performance will include Paul Mejia and Sergei Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf, plus classical ballet excerpts from Glazunov’s Raymonda and new works by Katie Puder and Eugene Barnes III. Pianist Mikhail Berestnev will accompany the dancers from Avant Chamber Ballet and Avant Chamber Ballet Trainees, ACB’s second company.
“We are so excited to present our free spring concert with Apex again this year,” says ACB artistic director Katie Puder. “This performance is a perfect one-hour show for the family to enjoy the outdoors and introduce children to the performing arts.”
The performances are presented by Apex Arts League and made possible by the City of Colleyville, the City of Southlake, Fichtenbaum Charitable Trust, and the Texas Commission on the Arts.

Apex Arts League and the Avant Chamber Ballet present the holiday classic, Nutcracker: Short and Suite in Southlake with a cast of professional dancers and live music.
This season’s production is a family-friendly, one-hour holiday celebration with all your favorite characters!
“Each year we update and refresh the production with little changes to the choreography and costumes,” says Artistic Director Katie Cooper. “It doesn’t seem like the holidays without Nutcracker but it’s great to be able to something a little bit different. We skip some of the storytelling sections and focus on everyone’s favorite dancing which makes it an easier and shorter production for kids in the audience, too.”
The performance is presented by Apex Arts League who brings top level arts group such as the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and the Fort Worth Symphony to Southlake. It is made possible through the support of Arts Council Northeast.
Tickets are available online or at the door. Ticket prices are $20 Adult or $15 Seniors, Students and Apex Members.

Avant Chamber Ballet returns to Southlake with an expanded one-act Nutcracker with all your favorite characters and live music!
The production will build on the success last season, including new and expanded sections from the Christmas classic and new costumes in a family-friendly one-hour performance. This year in addition to the 15 professional dancers, we have a student cast of 38 from schools all over DFW selected from 2 days of auditions. For the third year, ACB will be presented by Apex Arts League who brings top level arts group such as the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and the Fort Worth Symphony to the city of Southlake.
