Youth Fishing Day 2013 set for April 20th

Join the City of Southlake Parks and Recreation and Texas Junior Anglers for an afternoon of fishing on Saturday, April 20th from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Bob Jones Fishing Pier. The pond will be stocked with 500 pounds of  fish for an opportunity to catch the “BIG” one.
Texas Junior Anglers is an outreach program that is designed to educate young Texans about aquatic sportsmanship, promote conservation of our environment, encourage a lifetime enjoyment of the Texas outdoors and foster strong community relationships. The Texas Junior Anglers has been involved in Southlake’s Youth Fishing Day for over 5 years.
Participants will be divided into age groups and trophies and prizes will be awarded to the winners of each age group. Fishing equipment will be provided by the Texas Junior Anglers or you can bring your own rod and reel. Anyone over the age of 16 must have a fishing license to fish in the City parks.
