Come Demo Two New Bollywood Dance Classes This Week and Next!

Time to dance away your worries and have fun with friends in one of our two new Bollywood Dance programs coming in the Fall!

We are excited to bring two Bollywood dance programs to our community this Fall, and you’re welcome to try them before committing. The instructor, Kavitha Suresh, is offering two demo classes to promote Dance Away with Bollywood and Strength and Tone Away with Bollywood Beats! Don’t miss your chance to sample these two programs free of charge! Instructors will teach a demo, provide information about the upcoming classes, and give away gift bags to participants!

Dance Away with Bollywood – Tuesdays at 7:00 PM – Sept 6-Oct 4
Bollywood dancing is an expressive form of movement based on famous Indian Movies! Fusing Bollywood Indian steps with folk, Latin, and hip-hop styles, it offers a fast-moving and vivacious dancing workout that is great for enjoyable group exercise. Dance Works Instructors are trained and certified by BollyX and Zumba!

Strength & Tone with Bollywood Beats! – Wednesdays at 7:00 PM- Sept 7-Oct 5
Get stronger and build lean and toned muscles by dancing to Bollywood music! This class incorporates light weights into the low-impact routines. Dance Works Instructors are trained and certified by BollyX and Zumba!

Southlake Recreation Kicking Off the New Year With New Adult Programs

The kids aren’t the only ones who get to have fun. Southlake offers a wide range of programs for adults (18+) so everybody can get in on the action!

Wanting to learn to play the guitar? Beginner Guitar class is the perfect fit for you. Learn to play the guitar at a beginning level and learn many of the different styles, skills and techniques required to become a successful guitarist.

Learn the fun, fast and easy way to dance with our variety of dance classes. Ballroom Dance, Country Western Dance and Line Dancing are all classes offered to you! Learn how to two-step and West Coast Swing in a fun-filled atmosphere, learn how to line dance to the most popular dances, and learn how to Waltz, Rumba and Swing.

Get your groove on with the Bollywood Dance program, where you can learn the dance moves of your favorite movie stars and have a little fun while getting some amazing exercise.

And don’t forget about the Women’s Self Defense Class. This class empowers women to fight back and survive an attack from an assailant.

Learn How to Dance Like They Do in Bollywood Right Here in Southlake

This fall, Southlake Community Services is offering a fun dance program that is perfect for adults and kids. A little fun with fitness exercise!

If you are looking to learn dance moves of your favorite stars and movies, Bollywood dance is the perfect fit for you. What better way to get in a light workout while having fun and learning something new? Grace & Grooves focuses on teaching the techniques and styles of these traditional Indian dances. The 50 minute class takes place at the Southlake Activity Center, so if you are feeling groovy and are interested in trying something new hurry and enroll before it fills up. The last of the fall sessions are about to start, be sure to check them out.

Youth Program Registration is Now Open!

Sign-up your child now for Southlake Parks and Recreation Youth programs! With a wide assortment of programs to choose from, there’s something that everyone will love.

Jump into cooking with your little one in Lil’ Chefs, a cooking program where kids ages 3 – 8 can learn to measure, mix, whip and decorate their way to an array of yummy treats!
Or Chess! The program teaches kids to learn the basics of competitive Chess, including notation, tournament procedures and etiquette as well. Give their brains a workout!

If your’re looking for a more active program try Jiu-Jitsu! For ages 5 – 17, the Jiu-Jitsu program has been running in Soutlake since 2002 and has since become a crowd favorite, teaching kids age appropriate marshal arts.

Show off your moves with Bollywood Dance! A program designed to teach kids ages 5 – 13 poise, grace, and the moves of their favorite Bollywood stars!

Or put their survival skills to the test with The Ultimate Survival Test, where kids are put through a series of games designed to make sure that they are ready for the apocalypse!
