CISD Hosts School Safety Fair

Carroll ISD will be holding a School Safety Fair to help inform Dragons and their parents of general safety as well as the steps CISD is taking to secure its facilities, employees and students. This free, come-and-go School Safety Fair will be held on Wednesday, August 21, from 4-6 p.m. at Carroll High School, 800 White Chapel Boulevard in Southlake.

The School Safety Fair is a great opportunity for parents and students to meet the School Resource Officers (SROs) assigned to each campus to ensure the safety of our Dragons. The Safety Fair is part of Carroll ISD’s comprehensive plan to address safety and security called Operation #SAFEdragon.

Buster the School Bus will be in attendance to encourage school bus safety. In addition, there will be information about programs including Talk About It, Rachel’s Challenge, with staff available to answer questions, including campus counselors, school nurses and athletic trainers. Several tables will also have safety handouts on topics such as heat strokes, head lice, concussions, fire safety and flu prevention.

The CISD School Safety Fair will also hold valuable safety information from our local Fire, Health and Police Departments. Booths will provide tips and information on how to best protect your family while information on Operation #SAFEdragon will be given for those who are curious about what Carroll ISD is doing to make its campuses safer.

Under the Operation #SAFEdragon initiative, this Safety Fair addresses two CISD goals. These goals state Carroll ISD’s intention to provide a school environment supportive of learning and improve public understanding and support of our schools. More than just safety information, there will be activities for every member of the family. Refreshments will be provided, and there will be cool treats and fun interactive activities, like face painting, for young children.

Since this event will take place before the start of school, be looking for postcards which will be delivered to the home of every CISD student, as well as fliers and yard signs when visiting the campuses for the school supply sale, new student registration and Meet-the-Teacher events.
