Dragons Hosting Cedar Hill in Playoff Showdown Nov. 13

LJThe Carroll Dragon football team will benefit from a new UIL rule for the Class 6A playoffs this year.

The top seeds in Division I and II in each district have the option of hosting first-round playoff games.

Carroll, the No. 1 Division II seed in District 7-6A, will host two-time defending state champion Cedar Hill at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13 at Dragon Stadium in a bi-district playoff. The Dragons and Cedar Hill have met four times in the playoffs since 2007 and each team has won twice.

This will mark only the second time in the history of Dragon Stadium that Carroll has hosted a playoff. In 2002, the Dragons defeated Arlington in a Class 5A playoff en route to its first 5A title.

Adding more to this showdown of state powerhouses is the fact Cedar Hill knocked Carroll out of the playoffs 62-42 last year in the state quarterfinals.
