The Carroll Clay Target Team earned a victory last weekend in the Skeet Double Trap Tournament.
Leading the skeet doubles and trap event was Team Captain Nick Godfrey, with a HOA score of 188/200.
Godfrey’s nearest competitor for HOA was 10 shots behind. Justin Lee secured 4th HOA, Cameron Switzer and Spencer Fairchild scored 7th-8th out of 80 shooters.
The Varsity team showed their strength and depth by sweeping the skeet doubles event with a shutout. Skeet Co-Captain Cameron Switzer secured the gold medal with 94, followed by Co-Captain Spencer Fairchild’s silver-93 and Godfrey bronze-91.
The 100 trap event was won by Godfrey-97. Lee rounded out the five-man squad with 89 followed by Alex Shockley-87, Sporting Clays Co=Captain Bennett Gall-84, and Trap Co-Captain Austin Mossberg-78.
The CCTT won the overall team event, beating rival Allen decisively by 14 targets. The team won the traveling trophy for the first time in team history. The CCTT showed a winning performance in difficult weather conditions.
