Dragon Football 2014 Schedule Features State Champions

The Dragon football team will host five games next season at Dragon Stadium, and one will be played nearby at AT&T Stadium vs. Tulsa Union.

The Carroll Dragon 2014 football schedule includes five home games and several key area matchups as the team moves into Class 6A next season.

Next year’s Dragon schedule features five former state champions, an Oklahoma powerhouse and a new district that includes Trinity and L.D. Bell for the first time in school history. Carroll opens the season Friday, Aug. 29  against Austin Westlake at Dragon Stadium. Carroll will play four non-district games and the second game will be held at AT&T Stadium Friday, Sept. 5 against Tulsa Union.

The Dragons play at Midland Lee, and will follow with a bye week before hosting former state champion Abilene for homecoming on Sept. 26. Senior Night will be Oct. 31 vs. Haltom.

The newly-aligned District 7-6A, regarded as one of the toughest in the state, will open play Friday, Oct. 3 when Carroll hosts long-time rival Coppell. Possibly the biggest home game of the season will be held Friday, Oct. 17 when the Dragons host playoff-rival Trinity for the first time. Carroll and Trinity have met three times in the postseason, including the last two seasons, with the Dragons holding a 2-1 edge.

The Dragons will begin preparation for the 2014 season with spring ball, which gets underway April 29 and will conclude with the Green-White Spring Game on Thursday, May 22 at 7 p.m.
