Dragon Football Hits the Road in 2015

JarredRepicePix (1)The Carroll Dragon 2015 football schedule includes plenty of miles ahead – on the road.

The Dragons have six road games this season, including non-district trips to Austin Westlake, Tulsa Union and Abilene. Carroll will also play two rivals – Trinity and Coppell on the road. Four of the Dragons first five games are away.

Carroll will host its first game at Dragon Stadium on Friday, Sept. 11 vs. Midland Lee on Green Out Night.

The season opener is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 28 at Austin Westlake. Last season, Carroll edged Westlake 17-14 in the Dragon home opener.

The Dragons finished 13-1 last season and reached the Class 6A Division II state quarterfinals. Standout running back Lil’ Jordan Humphrey returns this season and is a coveted recruit. Carroll returns five starters on offense and two on defense. Quarterback Ryan Agnew, who signed with San Diego State, graduated after two years as starting quarterback.

Carroll opens District 7-6A at Coppell on Oct. 2.

The Carroll ISD Board and Community Relations Department fulfills all sponsorship agreements for advertising at Dragon Stadium. Each of the Dragons’ home football games has a title sponsor. This year’s title sponsor for the home opener, which is also Green Out and Dragon Youth Football Night is Park Place Motorcars.

Ozarka is the title sponsor for the Homecoming Game against Richland. The title sponsor of this year’s Pink Out game on Friday, Oct. 23 will be Berkey’s. Sponsors Roxann Taylor of Engel and Volkers, Mike Davis State Farm, Baylor Regional Medical Center and Cook Children’s will all sponsor the Senior Night game on Friday, Nov. 4.

The Carroll Dragons can also be heard on the radio, through a marketing sponsorship with Metro Sports Communications. Veteran broadcaster, Chuck Kelly delivers play-by-play broadcasts of all Carroll football games and can be heard on KWRD-FM (The Word 100.7) in Dallas/ Fort Worth. The Dragons are the only high school football broadcast on a 100,000-watt FM signal in a major media market.
