The Carroll Dragon golf team added another district championship to the program’s accolades.
The boys’ teams earned the top two spots at the District 7-6A tournament and the Carroll Black earned the championship finishing 10 under par as a team. All three teams advance to the Region I tournament April 13-14. Nine Dragons earned All-District honors. The Lady Dragons finished as the district runnerup.

It was an amazing weekend for the Dragon golf team. The Dragons blew away the competition at the 37th annual Tiger Classic.
The Dragons took two teams to the difficult Pebble Creek course and brought home 1st and 2nd place. Senior George Gardner had the low two-day total of 140 (68,72) along with senior Ben Fernandez, who was one stroke behind with a two-day total of 141 (69,72).

The Carroll Dragon Golf team competed at the Marcus Invitational and brought home hardware. Three Dragon teams played the difficult Bridlewood course and earned two of the top three spots.
The boys placed 3rd overall — led by freshman Caden Honea, who fired a 78. Meanwhile, freshman Emily Martin did the same for the girls side with a round of 88 and earned a first-place finish. The Lady Dragons finished first overall.

The Carroll Dragon golfers dominated the leaderboard of the District 4-5A tournament last week in Fort Worth.
Carroll took first place and Carroll “B” earned second place in the final team standings. Carroll’s top team scored 600 total, 11 strokes ahead the second Carroll team. Northwest finished third, followed by Keller and Richland.
Matt Gilchrest led all Dragons individually shooting 73 and 72 for a total of 145 to win the district championship. Colin Hamilton (74-75) and Corbin Karsten (77-74) finished third and fourth, respectively. The Dragons advance to the Class 5A Region I tournnament held in Lubbock on Wednesday and Thursday.
The Carroll Lady Dragon golfers won the Granbury Lady Pirate Classic last weekend. Carroll scored team totals of 301 and 305 for a 606 total. Senior captain Emily Grabarkewitz and freshman Ellie Youree took the top two spots individually in a field of strong competitors.
The Lady Dragons started with a seven-shot lead heading into Saturday’s round and at the end increased that to a 22-shot victory.
