Dragon Sports News: Tennis Finishes As Regional Finalists

The Carroll Dragons capped off another impressive fall season of team tennis. The Dragons reached the Class 5A Region I final before falling to El Paso Coronado on Saturday 10-4. The Dragons finished the season 20-3. Carroll advanced to the region final  for the second consecutive year with a  thrilling 10-7 victory against San Angelo Central and a 10-7 win against Grapevine. 

Carroll also finished the season as District 4-5A champions.

Dragons Rout Keller 52-17
The Dragons returned home after a three-game road stretch with a convincing 52-17 victory against Keller. The Dragons moved to 7-1 on the season and 5-0 in District 4-5A. Carroll holds sole possession of first place in district and faces second-place Fossil Ridge on Thursday at 7 p.m. in Keller. It was a big night for running back A.J. Ezzard against Keller. The senior had 21 carries for 151 yards and four TDs. He also had a 21-yard TD reception. Quarterback Ryan Agnew dazzled as well going 31-of-35 passing with 307 yards and three TDs. Dragon receiver Luke Timian took his turn with big numbers. Timian had 13 catches for 135 yards and one touchdown.

Lady Dragon Volleyball Gearing For Playoffs
The Carroll Lady Dragon volleyball team improved to 41-1 and 13-0 in District 4-5A last Friday with a sweep against Keller Central. The Lady Dragons wrap up the regular season with Senior Night on Tuesday against Timber Creek. The match starts at 5:30 p.m. This marks the fourth consecutive year the Lady Dragons have reached 40 victories.
