Dragon Soccer Coach Earns National Honor

Carroll boys' soccer coach Greg Oglesby

Carroll’s Greg Oglesby has been named national boys’ soccer coach of the year by the National Federation of State High School Coaches Association.

Oglesby is one of 21 coaches across the nation honored in boys’ and girls’ sports. The award recognizes coaches for the 2012-2013 school year and career work in their sport. Last season, the Dragons went 21-4-4 and finished as Class 5A Region I semifinalists.

Oglesby’s teams are regular playoff qualifiers and he led the Dragons to the Class 5A state title in 2011 with an unbeaten record. Oglesby started the Carroll soccer program 18 years ago and has built the Dragons into a perennial power. Carroll also won a Class 4A title in 2001.
