District Hires New 7th-12th ELA Curriculum Coordinator

Paul Pinson

Carroll ISD has hired Paul Pinson as the new English Language Arts and Social Studies Coordinator for grades 7th-12th.

Pinson has taught in CISD for the past 14 years and has 31 years of experience in public education. During his tenure at Carroll, Pinson has taught multiple subjects including World History, AP World History, World Geography, Government and AP United States History.

“Paul will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Curriculum and Instruction team and his knowledge of Carroll and our staff will ensure a smooth transition for both administrators and staff,” said Gina Peddy, Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction. “Paul’s enthusiasm and passion for education inspires everyone he encounters and we look forward to working with him.”

Pinson also served as Social Studies Department Chair at Carroll Senior High School and provided Assistant Principal leadership support. He helped coordinate the implementation of concept-based learning at CSHS and developed a Positive Classroom Management program for beginning teachers.

Pinson has a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from the University of North Texas. He was introduced at the July 20 School Board meeting.
