The Carroll Lady Dragons were well represented on this year’s All-District 7-6A volleyball teams.
Leading the way was Lady Dragon Haley Hallgren (pictured above), who was named the District’s Most Valuable Player.
Fellow Lady Dragons dominated the district superlatives including Nailah Gordon (Co-Newcomer of the Year); Asjia O’Neal (Blocker of the Year) and Lisie Kit (Setter of the Year).

FLOWER MOUND – The No. 1-ranked Carroll Lady Dragons outlasted a tough second-round playoff obstacle last Friday.
The Lady Dragons defeated Allen in four games in a Class 6A area playoff at Marcus High School. With the win, Carroll avenged one of its three losses this year by defeating Allen. Since that loss, the Lady Dragons have won 27 matches.
Carroll overcame a second-game loss and finished 25-21, 17-25, 25-22 and 25-19. The Lady Dragons improved to 43-3. Follow the Lady Dragons on Twitter @LadyDragonVball.
Carroll advances to face McKinney Boyd (31-11) in a Class 6A Region I quarterfinal at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Culwell Center in Garland.
Also, last week Lady Dragon outside hitter Megan Porter was named Under Armour Second-Team All-American. Porter will play next year at Texas State.
ARLINGTON – The Carroll Lady Dragon volleyball team opened the playoffs Tuesday vs. DeSoto.
The Lady Dragons continued its hot streak with a Class 6A bi-district round sweep – 25-11, 25-16 and 25-13 – at Arlington High School. Carroll, the No. 1-ranked team in the state, earned its 26th consecutive victory.
The Lady Dragons (42-3) advance to meet Allen in the 6A area round Friday at 7 p.m. at Marcus High School.
The Carroll Lady Dragons are one victory from a perfect run through District 7-6A.
The Lady Dragons defeated Colleyville Heritage 25-13, 25-15 and 25-14 last Friday. Carroll is 39-3 overall and 11-0 in district.
The Lady Dragons host rival Coppell at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at CSHS. Carroll is currently ranked No. 1 in the state.
The Carroll Lady Dragons face rival Coppell on Friday in a key District 7-6A matchup. Both teams are tied for first and undefeated in district.
The Lady Dragons are 33-3 overall and coming off an intense three-game sweep of Colleyville Heritage on Tuesday. The Lady Dragons won 25-20, 33-31, 25-18.

GLEN ROSE – The Carroll Lady Dragon volleyball team’s season came to an end Friday night in Glen Rose.
The Lady Dragons, vying for back-to-back trips to the state tournament, lost to Amarillo in three games — 25-23, 25-18, 27-25 — in a Class 6A Region I semifinal. Carroll finished the year 43-4 overall. Top-ranked Amarillo advanced to the 6A state tournament after defeating Hebron in the Region I final.
The Lady Dragons had seven seniors who will continue playing next year after signing college scholarships last week.
LEWISVILLE – The Carroll Lady Dragon volleyball team swept another playoff opponent Tuesday at Lewisville High School.
The Lady Dragons defeated Denton Guyer 25-21, 25-14, 25-20 in a Region I quarterfinal. Carroll improved to 43-3 overall and advances to the Class 6A Region I semifinals against top-ranked Amarillo (41-6). The game is set for 8 p.m. Friday at Tiger Arena in Glen Rose.
The winner plays at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Region I final vs. the Hebron-Lubbock Coronado.
The Lady Dragons are seeking a return trip to the UIL state tournament after finishing as a state semifinalist last season. Carroll has reached state twice in the program’s history.
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS – The Carroll Lady Dragon volleyball team started the Class 6A playoff with an impressive first-round victory.
The Lady Dragons swept Mansfield in a Region I bi-district playoff – 25-3, 25-14, 25-16. The Lady Dragons improved to 41-3 overall and will play Thursday or Friday in the area round. Carroll finished second in District 7-6A and is aiming for a return trip to the state tournament.
