The City of Southlake is proud to announce that City Secretary Amy Shelley has been named the North Texas Municipal Clerks Association’s (NTMCA) Clerk of the Year.

“Amy is a wonderful support to the Council and me,” said Mayor Laura Hill. “She takes care of the details that make our service as elected officials that much easier. We know how special she is and it’s great to see her honored for her service to NTMCA and the City Southlake.”

In her role as City Secretary, Amy works with the Mayor and City Council, City Staff, and supports the Council in City board, commissions and committee appointments. She works closely with Tarrant and Denton Counties to manage election logistics.  She is also responsible for record retention and manages the official record of ordinances, resolutions and minutes.

Amy has been a member of NTMCA for several years. She is the current President and previously served as Vice President, Treasurer, Historian, and Board Secretary. Amy received her Texas Registered Municipal Clerks Certification in January 2013.

“Amy has served NTMCA cheerfully and with great dedication in the past years as a member and leader,” said Christine Green, City Secretary of the City of University Park. “Amy is a great ambassador for NTMCA.”

Amy accepted her award at the NTMCA Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, June 26 at the NRH Centre. She was joined at the luncheon by her husband Russell Shelley, Southlake Mayor Laura Hill, Councilmember Ronell Smith and staff members from the Southlake City Manager’s office.

Congratulations Amy!
