Carroll Academic Teams Among Top in Texas

At the Best of Texas UIL Meet earlier this month, the Carroll Social Studies and Computer Science teams finished among the top 10 in the state. Both teams finished in first place after Round 1. Complete results are outlined below:

Social Studies – 1st place Team (coached by Mr. Irish)
Individual Standings: All Carroll students finished in the top 10 in the State!

  • 1st place – Kelly Danner
  • 3rd place – Jared Chaney
  • 4th place (tie) – Kelsey Taeckens
  • 4th place (tie) – Bronwyn Sutherland
  • 10th place – Alexis Bowen

Computer Science – 1st place Team (coached by Ms. Woessner)

  • 5th place – Zech Hein
  • 7th place – Nikhil Ravi

Carroll Recognizes Comp Sci Education Week

The U.S. House of Representatives designated the week of Dec. 4-10, 2011 as Computer Science Education Week. This is an annual celebration in recognition of the importance of computing and the need for rigorous computer science education at all age levels.

Carroll ISD will recognize CSEd Week. The Carroll Computer Science and Robotics Team is hosting two events:

  • Thursday, Dec. 8 and Friday, Dec. 9 Carroll CompSci and Robotics Fundraiser at California Pizza Kitchen in Grapevine. Show this flyer to your server and have 20% of your bill donated to the Carroll Computer Science and Robotics Team.
  • Saturday, Dec. 10, Invitation Programming Competition at Carroll Senior High School. Computer Science Teams from area schools are invited to attend.
