Vote for Carroll Contestants in Chinese Student Music Video

Carroll ISD Chinese program students need your help to win an international music video contest. Students produced a 3-minute video called 白龙马  (Bai Long Ma, White Dragon Horse) as an entry to the WorldWide Online Spring Festival Gala Contest.

The video is about White Dragon Horse, who used to be a white dragon but was put under a spell and became a horse to serve Monk Tang in retrieving the first Buddhist mantra from India for China.

Viewers can vote for the Carroll ISD contest entry now through February, 28. Click here to be redirected to the voting site. Voters will need to create an account before they can vote. Detailed voting instructions are available here.

Dragon Stadium Sponsors Host Kick for a Car Contest

TLC Electrical and Park Place Mercedes/Lexus in Grapevine are giving one lucky Southlake Dragons Fan the opportunity to kick a field goal for the chance to win either a 2014 Mercedes CLA or 2014 Lexus IS. The field goal kick attempt will be held September 27, 2013, at Southlake Dragons Stadium prior to the Homecoming Game between the Southlake Dragons and Keller Central Chargers.

“We thought doing this field goal contest would be a great way to add some pre-game excitement for the homecoming game,” said Tami Church, vice-president of TLC Electrical in Southlake. “And since Park Place and TLC are both Southlake Dragons sponsors, it seemed like a great fit. They were on board immediately.”

One lucky winner will be chosen at random from all entries received by September 26, 2013, at 5:30 p.m. The lucky winner will be notified Thursday evening 24 hours prior to kick attempt. There is still time to register at http://tlcelectrical.com/contest.

“The kick attempt is no gimme,” said Church. “We sure would love to have the contestant win one of these luxury cars though. Whoever gets to make the kick attempt, we’re really pulling for them.”
