New Trash and Recycling Contract Takes Effect October 1

On October 1, 2014, the City’s new waste collection contract with Republic Waste Services will take effect. As part of the new contract, the rate—reflected on water bills, will increase by $0.17 per month, from $14.23 to $14.40. This breaks down to $9.50 per month for solid waste, $3.80 per month for recycling and $1.10 tax.  Commercial rates also will be adjusted as well to reflect a 1.18% increase.

Carroll Makes Splash with Ozarka® Deal at Dragon Stadium

press release imageOne of the biggest names in Texas high school football is teaming up with one of the state’s biggest bottled water brands.

The Carroll Independent School District has signed a two-year contract for Ozarka® Brand 100% Natural Spring Water to become the exclusive bottled water at Dragon Stadium, home of the eight-time state champion Dragon football team.

The contract was unanimously approved at Monday night’s Carroll ISD School Board meeting. The revenue will go into CISD’s general operating fund, which pays for school materials, staffing, student programs, buses, etc.

The contract includes Ozarka signage and branding throughout Dragon Stadium. The east end zone seating for the Dragon Band and Emerald Belles will be named the “Ozarka Zone” and include signage. Purchasing for CISD concessions will also be included along with in-kind donations for CISD student groups participating at varsity football games.

Ozarka will receive public address announcements and digital signage on the stadium’s video scoreboard. Ozarka also has the opportunity to support the district’s on-site recycling program. In addition, the district is working on a separate contract with Ozarka to sponsor team buses with banner and poster advertisements.

“We are thrilled to reach this agreement with Ozarka,” Carroll ISD Superintendent Dr. David Faltys said. “The dollars generated from this contract will provide a significant financial impact to our district and assist funding the educational needs for our students. As a bonus, we believe the partnership between a trusted Texas brand such as Ozarka and the Carroll Dragons will enhance the overall game experience for our fans.”

As part of the agreement, Ozarka will sponsor a digital animated game for fans on the video scoreboard, and the Aug. 29 game against Austin Westlake will be Ozarka night at Dragon Stadium.

Dating back to 1905, Ozarka’s heritage is rooted in Texas for generations. Today, Ozarka® Brand 100% Natural Spring Water is bottled in Texas and comes exclusively from high quality spring sources throughout the state.  This agreement connects two prominent names in the state and provides added exposure for both.

“Ozarka’s support of the Carroll Dragon football program is our way of demonstrating our commitment to the local communities we have called home for many years,” said Greg Berumen, Senior Marketing Manager at Nestlé Waters North America. “Ozarka is thrilled to be a part of an important Texas tradition and our role in these traditions is something we are truly proud of.”

Carroll ISD’s marketing partner Kyle Conway of The Sponsor Bureau was instrumental in helping secure the deal for Carroll ISD. The local marketing company receives a commission on all new sponsorships signed by Carroll ISD. This is the third new partnership for Carroll ISD as a result of the ongoing work of The Sponsor Bureau. On average, the Carroll ISD marketing program generates more than $400,000 in revenues to support CISD programs and operating budgets.
