Boys' Golf Team Narrowly Misses State Bid

LUBBOCK – The Carroll Dragons’ boys golf team fell just short of a return trip to the Class 5A state tournament. The Dragons finished third in the 5A Region I tournament, which concluded Tuesday in Lubbock. The Dragons, state runner-up last year, were four strokes behind second-place Keller. Mansfield won the region title, six strokes ahead of Keller. The top two teams advance to the state tournament. But Carroll will send an individual to state as Corbin Kasten qualified after shooting a two-day total of 145 (72-73) to lead the Dragons.
