Popular Smallcakes Cupcakery Makes Debut in Southlake

Smallcakes Dallas is pleased to announce it will open for business Thursday, October 17 at its location at 2315 East Southlake Boulevard.

Smallcakes Dallas is the first Dallas/Fort Worth franchise of the popular Smallcakes: A Cupcakery. Smallcakes, based in Kansas City with over 45 locations nationwide, specializes in decadent gourmet cupcakes baked fresh daily. Smallcakes founder Jeff Martin has been featured on the morning television show The View and had three appearances on the Food Network’s Cupcake Wars. Martin will be present for grand opening festivities in Southlake to greet guests along with the Dallas cupcakery team.

“We are incredibly excited about the arrival of Smallcakes in Dallas,” says Martin. “Southlake is the first of many locations in the greater DFW area, and we look forward to Smallcakes becoming a household name with our delicious, moist cupcakes.”

The cupcakery’s daily menu features 12 signature flavors – Birthday Cake, Caramel Crunch, Chocolate Cream, Chocoholic, Cookies N Crème, Decadent Fudge, Hot Fudge Sundae, Peanut Butter Cup, Pink Chocolate, Pink Vanilla, Red Velvet, and Vanilla-N-Chocolate – as well as a rotation of over 100 specialty flavors such as Maple Bacon, Fat Elvis, Strawberries N’ Crème, and Pumpkin.

“We want Smallcakes to be an important part of the community so we are excited to offer an exclusive flavor for our area – a white and green lemon cupcake inspired by the Southlake Dragon,” says Claudia Maysen, owner of Smallcakes Dallas along with her husband, Mariano Garcia. “Southlake residents are encouraged to visit the shop during our grand opening to vote on the name of this special cupcake.”

The cupcakery plans to post promotions and drawings through social media, including an opportunity for customers to win free cupcakes for participation in the Southlake lemon cupcake name selection. The shop’s Facebook site will also feature announcements on upcoming events, seasonal offerings, and new flavors.

“The fall season is the perfect time to introduce Smallcakes to Dallas. We are in the midst of rolling out our seasonal menu including Pecan Pie, Sweet Potato, and Caramel Apple Pie, and are also launching a line of brand new cupcake flavors such as Cannoli, Tiramisu, Apple Stuffed French Toast, Stuffed Cookie, Southern Belle, and Sinful Caramel,” adds Martin.

Smallcakes regularly serves gluten free and sugar free options for its patrons, and offers custom cakes, cookies, whoopie pies, and refreshments.
