Lane Closure on EB SH 114 – Delta Marriott Hotel Construction

Starting Monday, April 15, the right lane of eastbound SH 114 frontage road, just after N. White Chapel will be closed. The closure is expected to last for about five months.

All road closures on SH 114 and its frontage road are managed through TxDOT who reviews and approves requests for any changes to traffic patterns. The hotel developers requested and were granted a permit for the closure to build a deceleration lane for two new entrances for the new Delta Marriott Hotel under construction at that site.

The hotel will be located at the SE corner of N. White Chapel and SH 114.

We ask motorists to proceed with caution when traveling through the area as construction vehicles enter and exit the site and as motorists navigate through work zones for two different projects.

New Delta Marriott Hotel Starts Construction Work

Additional overnight stay options in Southlake are now underway. The Delta Marriott Southlake, located on the southeast corner of State Highway 114 and North White Chapel Boulevard, began some initial construction work recently to prepare the site for the anticipated hotel. The Delta Marriott Southlake will offer amenities such as outdoor pool, restaurant & bar space, and a conference space that includes a ballroom, board room and meeting room.

The Delta Marriott Southlake will be an upscale full-service hotel that competes in the upscale tier against brands like Doubletree and Crowne Plaza. The 240-room six-story hotel was approved by the City Council in January 2017 as part of a larger mixed-use development referred to as the Delta Southlake Center that consists of multi-story office buildings and some retail space.  Currently, the work that has started is only for the hotel portion of the development and any future buildings will be required to obtain City approval. The new hotel will add to Southlake’s combined 420+ guest rooms that already exist at the Hilton Southlake Town Square and Cambria Southlake hotels.

Carl Schwab, the developer of the Delta Marriott, has indicated that site preparation for the new hotel is expected to run for the next two to three months.  Construction work on the hotel is expected to take between 16 to 18 months with an opening date set from sometime in the late Summer or early Fall of 2020.
