Four Dragon Tennis Players State Bound

LUBBOCK – The Carroll Dragons produced unlike any other school in the Class 5A Region I tennis tournament this week in Lubbock. The Dragons qualified four players (two doubles teams) for the 5A State Tournament in Austin. Carroll’s mixed doubles team of Austin McCasin-Kelley Anderson won the Region 1 title and remained undefeated on the season. They will aim for a state title April 30-May 1 at the Penick-Allison Tennis Center at the University of Texas. Both players qualified for the state tournament last year in singles and Anderson, as a freshman, was the state runner-up. Also, the boys’ doubles team of Collin Alexander-John Woolridge are state bound after a runner-up finish at the region tournament.
