Fire Lt. & Texas Task Force 1 Member Frank Molinets

One of Southlake’s finest ​Fire Lieutenant Frank Molinets has returned from the search and rescue operations in Wimberley where major flooding wreaked havoc last month. Heavy rains caused major destruction and swept away homes resulting in the deaths of a dozen people; several individuals are still missing. 20150527_074347

Molinets is a Medical Specialist with task Texas Task Force 1. He spent a week in Wimberley, from May 24th – 30th aiding in search and rescue operations.  His team covered about 50 miles of the Blanco River on both sides. Each 20150527_092905team hits the ground running as time is of the essence. They put in long hours for days at a time in the most difficult surroundings. “Part of my job was to maintain the health and well being of the first responders; as well as aid any victims that were found.” said Molinets.
Members of Texas Task Force 1 are made up of first responders from across Texas. It is the most deployed urban search and rescue team in the country. This is the second deployment for Molinets.
