The previously flooded section of North White Chapel opens Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 7:00 a.m. The road was closed due to flooding from Lake Grapevine.
Public Works crews swept and cleaned the road to remove debris. While water is still near the edge of the roadway, orange and white barricades are aligned along the side of the road to ensure motorist safety. These barricades are temporary and will be removed in the coming weeks as the water recedes from the roadside.
Drivers are asked to pay special attention in this area and take care when driving in the area, especially at night.

The section of North White Chapel near Camp Burnett, which has been closed since late May 2015, is expected to remain closed for the remainder of the summer and possibly into the fall.
Some of the water has receded, as you can see in the comparison pictures from June and July 2015, but water still covers most of North White Chapel Boulevard near Camp Burnett.
We mentioned previously the efforts needed to get the road open sooner. Over the last month in fact, the City of Grapevine has been steadily and intermittently releasing water through the spillway in an effort to address the existing flooding.
But with today’s rain, the opening of the road will be pushed back further in the year.
Please continue to check for updates on the North White Chapel closure as they become available. For questions, contact the Public Works Department at 817-748-8098.
