Southlake area sports photographer Bob Beauvais of REB Photowas working on the sidelines, taking pictures during the Class 5A Division I State Semifinal football game between the Carroll Dragons and Skyline Raiders. Fans from both schools packed the stands at SMU’s Ford Stadium in Dallas.
Beauvais had his camera in hand when a small animal darted on the field in the middle of a play. It was a crucial moment in the game as quarterback Kenny Hill avoided Skyline defense to make the game winning touchdown. Beauvais quickly snapped a memorable photo, capturing the moment.
Turns out the little fox is no stranger to SMU students and staff. There have been multiple reports of fox sightings across campus. The timing of this particular appearance has some Dragon fans calling the circumstance the “Silver Fox Swag”.
This one of a kind image is now up for auction. Beauvais enlarged the photo, had it autographed by Hill and Carroll coach Hal Wasson and matted to a 16″ x 20″ frame. The custom artwork is also numbered and comes with a silver name plate.
The frame is being auctioned on eBay. Click here to read more about the custom frame and to place a bid. Bidding is open for one week. Free shipping is offered and profits from the auction will be donated to charity. The actual frame is on display in the Carroll ISD Administration Center until Friday, Dec. 16.
Carroll won the game and advanced to the 2011 Class 5A Division I State Championship football game. The game is Saturday, Dec. 17. Click here to read more about the Carroll-Skyline game. Click here for details on the State Championship.
