Outdoor Fitness Series Fall 2022 is Coming Soon!

It’s been a hot summer, Champions Club members! With Fall right around the corner, it’s time to get excited for the Fall Outdoor Fitness Series.

Join us this fall for this short series of fun, free classes located in different parks throughout Southlake and taught by our awesome group fitness instructors. The best part? The series is open to all ages and fitness levels and no registration or membership is required!

This is the best way to sample our incredible group fitness classes for free while also enjoying our beautiful parks system. Mark you calendars for the following dates:

Don’t Miss Our Adult Outdoor Education Opportunities This Spring at the Bob Jones Nature Center

The Bob Jones Nature Center is a natural classroom for community members of all ages.

You may be familiar with our award-winning Cross Timbers Forest Preschool and legendary Community Hikes, but did you know the Nature Center offers free Outdoor Education classes for adults? Mark your calendars because there are three incredible class options this spring!

Photography Basics: 3/26/22 10:30am-11:30am
Join local photography expert, Bruce Rosenstiel, to learn about wildlife photography! This class will touch on the basics of photographing nature while focusing on pollinators in the garden. Topics will include equipment, the basics of shooting, general tips and tricks, and more! Feel free to bring your camera with you.

Healing Gardens: 4/16/22 1:00pm-2:00pm
During this class with Betsy Marsh, Conservation Education Coordinator for Tarrant Regional Water District, you’ll have an opportunity to walk through the beautiful gardens at BJNCP, learn about specific plants and garden features that can promote health and well-being, and discuss new pathways to health in your own home garden.

BJNCP Garden Tour: 5/14/22 9am-10am
Tarrant and Denton County Master Gardeners work incredibly hard to make the Bob Jones Nature Center and Preserve (BJNCP) gardens beautiful and beneficial to wildlife. Join head BJNCP Master Gardener, Carol Dowd, for a tour of the Nature Center gardens. Carol is an expert in all things gardening and can teach you about our plants and give you tips for your garden. This class will be entirely outside. Please dress for the weather and bring a water bottle.

Kids Fitness Summer Series Arrives in Champions Club in July

Champions Club fights summer boredom with the Kids Fitness Summer Series!

The Dog Days of Summer are here, and your little ones may be starting to get anxious after a month of summer vacation. Luckily for you, Champions Club is introducing the Kids Fitness Summer Series to get your children off the couch and hooked on staying active!

We know our Champions Club members are no strangers to the world of fitness. After all, you didn’t choose to become a member of a world-class facility for nothing. Here at Champions Club, we know that building lifelong healthy habits is a skill best learned early. We are here to share the joy of fitness and recreation with every single member, even the littlest champions!

The Kids Fitness Summer Series will introduce your child to fitness through fun and free classes! Located in the Fieldhouse at Champions Club and taught by our unbeatable group fitness instructors, this series is guaranteed to be a blast!

Here is the schedule for July:

Kids Zumba- Wednesday, July 21 at 6:00 pm
Teach your children the joy of movement through dance and burn off the summer boredom to funky world-beats.

Kids High Fitness- Monday, July 26 at 6:00 pm
Kids will enjoy a fun, dance-focused class mixed up with all your favorites music! This class is sure to have your kids dancing to the beat as it combines interval training with easy-to-follow choreography.

Kids Sports Fit- Wednesday, July 28 at 6:00 pm
Develop your kiddo’s agility and coordination in this light and upbeat atmosphere. Your child will enjoy running, jumping, and showing off their skills!

Champions Club is all about bringing the best fitness to the Southlake community, and the Outdoor Fitness Spring Series is no exception. Back by popular demand, the Outdoor Fitness Series is open to all community members for free. Registration is not required! Change up your fitness routine while enjoying time in our beautiful parks!

April 19 at 6:00 pm
Start your Monday off on the right foot with High Fitness at the Aria Amphitheater. This hardcore class focuses on interval training through popular music and accessible choreography.

April 28 at 6:00 pm
Join us at Outdoor Turf 2 in Bicentennial Park for Rise ‘N’ Grind! Bring your A-game and prepare to mix strength training with cardio for a workout that is sure to burn some major calories.

May 3 at 6:00 pm
Train like a champion through high-intensity interval training during Strength HIIT at the Outdoor Turf 2 in Bicentennial Park. Push yourself to the limit with this fun yet challenging workout.

May 8 at 9:00 am
Start the weekend off right with a relaxing yoga class at Bob Jones Nature Center! Connect with your soul and nature as you stretch and practice breathing.

May 12 at 6:00 pm
Get ready to dance to the beat at the Aria Amphitheater with Zumba! Explore Latin rhythms and moves as your get your heart rate up with this party-like exercise.

May 15 at 9 am
End the series with a mindful session of Yoga at North Park. Take a moment to be grateful for the chance to exercise outdoors.

Whether you are a Champions Club member or not, there is an outdoor class for you! Don’t miss your chance to find your new workout frenzy and win a door prize at the end of each class! You will be entered into a random drawing at every session. There is also a grand prize for two lucky winners at the end of the series. Those who attend four or more classes could win either a 5-pack of Personal Training sessions or a 3-pack with our Registered Dietician. Drawing winners will be announced on May 17.

Home for the Holidays 2016 Brings Merry and Bright Festivities to Southlake

Spectacular sparkling lights, festive family fun, and seasonal shopping galore are all part of Southlake’s Home for the Holidays, a month-long of holiday happenings in and around Southlake Town Square. Seasonal celebrations officially kick-off with the Annual Tree Lighting ceremony scheduled for Saturday, November 19 from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. With free parking and free admission, this merry and bright start to the holiday season makes Southlake the perfect destination for Christmas cheer.nk6_0236

Be transported to a winter wonderland. A Southlake tradition for more than 15 years, the Annual Tree Lighting event features Santa’s illumination of Christmas lights in Southlake Town Square and includes a variety of seasonal family activities: a four-lane snow hill, snow man building, holiday crafts, ornament decorating, complimentary photos with Santa, letters to Santa, holiday treats, horse-drawn carriage rides, and a toy and food drive. Seasonal songs and entertainment will be provided by the Southlake Community Band and Southlake school choirs. The night of fun-filled merriment is only the start to a season full of festivities.

Santa is coming to town! Guests can stop by Santa’s Village in Rustin Park in Town Square to share wish lists and have holiday pictures taken with the jolly ole elf through Christmas eve. Children will also have a blast during Story Time with Mrs. Clause, Cookie Decorating, Story Time at the Station, Holiday Crafternoon, and Mr. Vic’s Holiday Extravaganza. Popular during school breaks, Holiday Break Camp Mania is a great opportunity for kids to enjoy arts and crafts, field trips and plenty of play time. With multiple camp dates, there are a variety of options to keep children entertained while parents finish holiday shopping.

Grab your blankets, lawn chairs, family and friends for a family friendly night out at the Marq. Come and join the fun and enjoy our brand new 17 ft LED movie screen!

Movies will begin at 7:00 PM at the Aria Amphitheater located behind The Marq Southlake. Complimentary inflatables, crafts and popcorn will be provided for all guests. Food trucks will also be available to purchase additional food and drink items. Be sure to bring your own blanket or chair. Tents and tarps will not be permitted.

Strokes of Art in the Square Voting Ends April 1

Art in the Square featured artwork is still hanging beautifully in the lobby of Southlake Town Square. The artwork will only be available to view and vote on for a couple more days. Come out and cast your votes for the People’s Choice Award at Art in the Square.

There are 11 pieces of artwork that still need your votes. Voting is located at Town Hall and will end Friday, April 1.

Art in the Square will be returning to Southlake on Friday, April 22 – Sunday, April 24. In addition to offering the best in visual arts, Art in the Square features a tremendous lineup of musicians and performing artists. Two stages feature continuous entertainment all weekend long. Come out and enjoy the fun.

Eight reasons why we love Easter in the Park

Easter in the Park is Saturday, March 19

Bring your egg baskets because Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny are coming to the City of Southlake and they’re bringing thousands of candy and toy-filled eggs. The annual Easter in the Park event, sponsored by Alpine Materials LLC, is taking place on Saturday, March 19. This year’s celebration will be held from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM in North Park, located at 200 East Dove Road.

Mr. & Mrs. Easter Bunny will be there to hide the eggs and take complimentary photos with families. Bring the whole family out to enjoy complimentary crafts, activities, inflatables, cotton candy, popcorn, photos, and much more! The egg hunts will be divided by age groups (2 & under, 3-4 years, 5-6 years and 7-8 years, with a golden egg hunt for ages 9-12).

Egg Hunt Schedule:
