Since December 2013, the City has been working with Schrickel, Rollins & Associates, Inc. and Dean Construction to give the Southlake community a state-of-the-art park for kids of all ages to enjoy. Improvements to the park include a new playground, a Texas Rangers Miracle League Field, a 60/90 baseball field, new concession/restroom facilities, enhancements to the original baseball 4-plex, a new Park Division Office, and new trails.
One of the most unique features of Bicentennial Park is the new playground! At approximately 1.3 acres, it will offer an abundance of natural play opportunities for kids of all ages. It features two play areas — one designed specifically for toddlers and the other for older children. The playground will also include three pavilions and a large open picnic space.
Park goers will notice a mommy dragon and baby dragon around the outskirts of the playground that house natural play elements for children to climb and explore on. The City welcomes everyone to come out to the Grand Opening on September 12, and the park and playground will resume normal play hours (Sunday – Monday from 6:00 AM – 11:00 PM) after that date.
Bicentennial Park is located at 450 W. Southlake Blvd., Southlake, TX 76092. For more information about Bicentennial Park, please contact the Community Services Department at 817.748.8019.
