Carroll interns (left to right) Estelle Cottingham, Alexa Silvers (college intern), Jarred Repice, Adam Kit and Trevor Booth worked on the sidelines during the Armed Forces Bowl Dec. 30.

FORT WORTH – Carroll ISD interns had their own chance of participating in a college bowl game.

Four interns from the Carroll Marketing and Sport Information program and one from the Athletic Department helped worked ESPN gameday duties at the Armed Forces Bowl, held Dec. 30 TCU’s Amon Carter Stadium. The interns had a host of duties, and had the experience of working on the sidelines during the game.

High school interns Estelle Cottingham, Jarred Repice, Adam Kit, Trevor Booth and college intern Alexa Silvers worked the game which featured Navy vs. Middle Tennessee State.

The interns worked on and off the field.  They worked hanging posters in the stadium, stocked merchandise tents, passed out programs, helped transport a parachute off the field (paracuter landed on field as part of pre-game) and worked the field goal nets for extra points and field goals. Following the game, the interns helped take down signs around the stadium.

Each year Carroll ISD interns have the opporunity to work at the Armed Forces Bowl for ESPN. For more information about the internship contact 817-949-7080 or email rick.herrin@southlakecarroll.edu.
