City of Southlake Receives Run Smarter Award

The City of Southlake has won a Laserfiche Run Smarter award for using technology to make the Southlake Police hiring process one of the most efficient in the Metroplex.

Southlake Police job applications and personal history statements, which used to be a two-part application, are now consolidated into a single online statement. The document is also adaptable for each applicant’s unique job history, something that wasn’t available previously.

“The restructuring of our process lets us offer jobs much faster than before,” said Human Resource Director Stacey Black. “It helps us find the best police candidates and get them on the streets that much sooner.”

Black also noted:
• Testing notification wait time has been reduced from 2-3 weeks to as little as one day,
• The City of Southlake now saves over 6.25 hours of staff time per testing cycle on administrative tasks,
• A total cost savings of more than $7,000 year to year.

“Using Laserfiche Forms and Workflow has enhanced our City’s ability to be more transparent and effective in customer service. Through Laserfische we are delivering innovative and exceptional service,” affirmed Records Manager Veronica Lomas.

Lomas, the City’s liaison with Laserfiche, accepted the Run Smarter award at the recent Laserfiche Empower Conference. Lomas also presented at the conference, demonstrating the Police Department job application changes as well as other efficiency improvements.

“Through its vision and leadership, Southlake is demonstrating the future of work, which supports collaboration, innovation, and ingenuity,” said Karl Chan, President of Laserfiche.

The award winners are chosen by a committee of Laserfiche executives based on creativity, operational improvements, use of Laserfiche software and resources, and inspiration potential for other Laserfiche clients.
