Carita Weaver of i5 web works Receives Legacy of Women Award

Carita Weaver, co-founder and partner of i5 web works, an Internet marketing agency in Dallas Fort Worth, has been named a 2013 Legacy of Women honoree by SafeHaven of Tarrant County.  The 21st Annual Legacy of Women Awards Luncheon, which benefits SafeHaven’s domestic violence prevention and intervention programs, will take place October 3 at Tarrant County Convention Center.

Weaver, who is being honored in the business category for Northeast Tarrant County, is among 15 honorees this year in the categories of arts, business, education, health and human services, and volunteerism representing Arlington, Fort Worth and Northeast Tarrant County. All nominees are judged on the following criteria:  commitment, achievements, initiative, impact and additional contributions. A panel of SafeHaven’s professional staff and previous honorees make the selections.

According to Renova Williams, community volunteer who nominated Weaver, she joins a distinguished group of women who excel in their areas of expertise while giving back to the community.

“Carita’s business success at i5 web works, strength of character and support of her community made her an outstanding choice for this coveted award,”  said Williams.

Weaver was nominated for her contributions to numerous charitable organizations, which includes designing new websites, providing marketing expertise, and serving as a volunteer and board member. A letter of support submitted by leaders of The Arts League, Colleyville Woman’s Club and Grapevine Relief and Community Exchange (GRACE) is a testament to her philanthropic dedication: The cutting-edge website designs and technical support by Carita and her company, i5 web works, have been absolutely incredible. This outstanding young business woman has the background, knowledge, experience, energy, and strength of character needed to succeed in today’s fast-moving technical business environment. Her success in business and support of her community are an inspiration to all of us.”

“Regardless of how busy my schedule is, I believe there is always time to volunteer and help others. I don’t consider it to be work when I’m designing a website or helping to promote a fundraising event for a non-profit organization. I am extremely honored to receive the Legacy of Women Award and join this prestigious group of women,” Weaver stated.

Weaver, and her business partner and co-founder, Michael Burns, are the well-recognized faces of i5 web works, which was founded in 2005 and provides Internet marketing services in Dallas Fort Worth including custom website design, search engine optimization, pay-per-click advertising and social media mananagement.
