Parks and Recreation can encompass a myriad of services. The Hospitality and Sales Division sets us apart from other Recreation organizations thanks to their commitment to excellence. This critical Division oversees Legends Hall at The Marq Southlake, creating world-class experiences for everyone on this side of The Marq. This team of dedicated Recreation professionals spends their days booking and planning all sorts of events at Legends Hall. The Hospitality and Sales team executes incredible events and programming, from large-scale weddings, corporate gatherings, Board and Commission meetings to birthday parties, outdoor concerts, and running the Senior Activity Center.
This team consists of dedicated professionals who make your important milestones memorable. Here’s a look at the services they provide our community.
Weddings and large-scale events account for approximately 29% of the gross revenue for Legends Hall since it opened in 2015. Legends Hall has made its Marq as a premier DFW wedding destination and as an award-winning facility. Our wide range of event packages and knowledgeable staff make Legends Hall the ideal place to say, “I Do.”
Other events this Division hosts include social events like birthday parties, baby showers, graduation, and holiday parties. Corporate events and smaller-scale events are also commonplace at Legends Hall. The Hospitality and Sales Division collaborates with community partners like APEX Arts League and Arts Council Northeast to bring cultural performances to our community at the Aria Amphitheater.
Senior Activity Center
The Senior Activity Center is a critical component of the services provided by this team to our community. The Senior Services team lovingly works to ensure our senior citizens access quality programs, exciting field trips, community meals, and their designated space. It’s no secret that the Senior Center holds a special place in our hearts!

The weather in Texas may change radically from day to day, but our love for our family and community stays constant. We were honored to celebrate love with you at the 2022 Sweetheart Dance last Saturday, February 12. This event was such a hit that we needed two sessions to celebrate. Both sessions were completely sold out!
Southlake families embraced the theme and brought their sweethearts to Legends Hall at The Marq Southlake for a Valentine’s Day family night to Remember! We pulled out all the stops to make this a fantastic night for the whole family. Participants made life-long memories with a photo booth, Valentine’s-themed crafting, cookie decoration, a candy bar, snacks, and dancing!
The night was a huge success thanks to our committed staff, hard-working volunteers, and incredible sponsors. Love was in the air and a great time was had by all.

If you’ve ever wondered how the Legends Hall staff manages to pull off such perfect events, time after time, then look no further than Rebecca Priddy! Rebecca Priddy is the new Banquet Specialist at Legends Hall and is in charge of coordinating and executing flawless events such as weddings, conferences, executive parties, and more.
We recently sat down with Rebecca to get to know her a little better. Here’s what she had to say:
What is your professional background?
My professional background has varied over my career path as I took an extended time to stay home with my children. I have experience as an administrative assistant, executive secretary, office manager, educator, recreation leader, recreation and educational programs coordinator, and events coordinator. I have realized during my career journey how much I enjoy community services and events! It has become a passion of mine.
What are you most excited about for your new position?
I am most excited about assisting in coordinating world-class and memorable experiences for our clients and community. It is a joy and honor to be a part of these special celebrations in people’s lives. I am also excited to work for the City of Southlake, be a part of this beautiful facility, and work alongside a fabulous team!
What do you like to do in your spare time?
My family is very important to me. I spend my spare time with my husband, four kids (young adults), and grandson. My daughter is a competitive dancer on her high school drill team, so the fall season is full of Friday night lights! Spring is competition season which keeps us busy as we cheer on our girl and her team. I also enjoy being outdoors at our community trails and parks and cheering for my grandson at his soccer games. I love to host family and friends in our home and spend time with our church community.
What are you most looking forward to in 2022?
I am excited about growing in my new position at Legends Hall and look forward to all the beautiful events we will help create. I am also looking forward to celebrating my 50th birthday, KHS drill team Nationals at Disney, and my son’s wedding in August!

Southlake children made the “Nice” list again this year and received a special visit from Jolly Old Saint Nicholas!
The Southlake Community Services Department hosted the annual Breakfast with Santa at The Marq Southlake on Saturday, December 4. Families enjoyed a morning filled with delicious breakfast goods, a photo op with the Big Man himself, and created their holiday stockings. Generous sponsorships from Ethan Allen, Mornings with Mommy, Mangos and Community Med Urgent Care made the program extra special for participants. Corner Bakery and Devivo Brothers were our delicious food vendors. Mrs. Claus made a special appearance as she visited families during breakfast time. The world-class facility was decorated for the holidays to make Mr. and Mrs. Claus feel extra welcomed.
The event was a huge success! Smiles were on every face, and hearts and tummies were full. Parents got the opportunity to take one-of-a-kind holiday photos, and children shared their wish lists with Santa in person! Breakfast with Santa is a Community Services staple and community favorite event.
“Breakfast with Santa is an annual City of Southlake event. I was so honored to host and plan this program for our residents. Thank you to all of our sponsors and our incredible volunteers! This event would not have been possible without the dedicated work of our staff, volunteers, vendors, and sponsors!” Gretchen Morgan, Programs Coordinator.

If you’ve booked a special event at Legends Hall, then you’ve witnessed the planning, decoration, and management magic of Crystal Maddalena.
Crystal is the perfect example of home-grown staff. She started her career with the City of Southlake in 2009 as a Teen Court Office Assistant. In 2011, she became the Teen Court Coordinator and stayed there until Legends Hall opened its doors six years ago.
Crystal was the Banquet Specialist at Legends Hall since it opened in 2015. As such, she was responsible for coordinating and executing every event to world-class perfection. Her meticulous attention to detail, empathetic understanding of clients’ needs, and flawless execution of breath-taking events have earned her various raving NPS and Wedding Wire reviews from previous clients. Earlier this year, Crystal was even recognized city-wide during Employee Appreciation week with the Accountability Award for her relentless dedication to creating world-class experiences.
This month, she stepped into a new role as the Hospitality and Sales Manager for The Marq Southlake! As such, Crystal is now in charge of managing the entire Legends Hall team to ensure The Marq Southlake remains the premier destination for life’s most memorable occasions. As a long-time member of Team Southlake, there’s no doubt that she will lead the team to new reach new heights!
When asked what she likes most about her new position, Crystal stated that she “enjoys working with our guests as we have a unique opportunity to be involved in once-in-a-lifetime events with them. It all comes down to customer service, and I have the privilege to practice that both internally and externally every day!”
