Consumer Alert: Backflow Testing Notices

The Southlake Public Works Department is aware of contractors and/or service providers offering fee-based services to test residential and commercial backflow devices.

These devices are used to protect potable water supplies from contaminants originating from outside of the water distribution system.  Please remember:

The City of Southlake does not send backflow test reminder notices to homeowners. Notices are only mailed to businesses and in the form of a letter from The City of Southlake’s Public Works Department.

Other tips to keep in mind:

  1. If you do receive a letter stating testing is due, check to see if the letter has the official Southlake logo.
  2. Some contractor letters imply that the City has recommended a specific business to do testing. The City does not make third-party recommendations or endorsements.

If you do receive a letter and have additional questions, please contact the City at (817) 748-8082 or visit the backflow page on the City website.
