Kick off the 2018 LiveFit Wellness Challenge at the Free Health Fair

Exercise more. Stress less. Spend more time with family. Whatever you want to accomplish in 2018, the LiveFit Wellness Challenge can help you turn your New Year’s resolutions into a lifetime of healthy habits!

The 2018 LiveFit Wellness Challenge, sponsored by Sprouts, will kick off on Saturday, January 13 with a free Health Fair at The Marq Southlake. Stop by from 10:00 AM to noon to meet our vendors and learn all about the fun and innovative ways they’re promoting health and wellness in the community. We’ll also have free health screenings, free samples from our vendors, raffles with great prizes and coupons for delicious, healthy foods. Vendors include CareNow, Texas Sports and Spine, Protein Fit Kitchen, Snappy Salads, Camp Gladiator, Southlake DPS and more.Starting line of Southlake Superhero 5K

The annual LiveFit Wellness Challenge is a free City of Southlake initiative designed to inspire the Southlake community to stay active with family and friends while incorporating healthy habits into their lives. Participants compete in daily challenges, track their steps and attend fitness and wellness activities around town to earn points toward amazing prizes. The Challenge concludes with the Superhero 5K and Fun Run on March 17 in Bicentennial Park. All Wellness Challenge participants will receive FREE access to the race so they can show off all their hard work.

The Health Fair is just the first of many fun, family-friendly Wellness Challenge events that City of Southlake will be hosting from January 13 through March 15. Mark your calendars for the following FREE LiveFit events:

LiveWell Lecture SeriesPeople engaged in a LiveWell lecture

City of Southlake is partnering with Executive Medicine of Texas and Dr. Chapman from Texas Sports and Spine for this interactive and educational health lecture series. Lectures will cover everything from heart health to sports medicine. Each lecture includes a complimentary meal and childcare is provided (must be potty-trained).

Couch to 5K Sponsored by Camp Gladiator
Every Saturday January 20 – March 10
Whether you’re a beginner runner or ready to get back in the race, Camp Gladiator’s free Couch to 5K program will help you cross that finish line. Join your fellow runners and Camp Gladiator’s experienced trainers for weekly Saturday morning runs and works outs through Bicentennial Park. Each meetup you attend will earn you 3 points in the Wellness Challenge and give you the speed, technique and motivation you need to shine in the Superhero 5K.

Hike with the Mayor
January 27, 2018
Come out to Bob Jones Nature Center and take the scenic trails down to Grapevine Lake with Mayor Laura Hill. This beautiful 3-mile hike is great for the entire family, and you’ll earn 5 points just for enjoying the fresh spring air.

Enjoy free group fitness classes throughout the month of February as part of the LiveFit Wellness Challenge. Mixing up your workouts is the perfect way to challenge yourself, stay motivated and make new fitness friends. Even better, you’ll earn 3 points for each class you attend!

Head over to The Marq Southlake as the City partners with the American Heart Association to enjoy a morning of free fitness class demos, free screenings, hands-on CPR classes and more ways to get involved in the LiveFit Wellness Challenge. You’ll not only get a great workout but also earn up to 10 points for participating!
