Lady Dragon Soccer Produces Dramatic Finish in Playoff Opener

CARROLLTON – The Carroll Lady Dragon soccer team battled tough winds and McKinney Boyd in the Class 6A bi-district round Thursday.

The Lady Dragons earned a 2-1 overtime victory thanks to a game-winning goal by Alli Gardner with 45 seconds left in the second overtime. It was Gardner’s second goal of the night.

The teams fought 25 mph winds at Hebron High School’s Hawk Stadium and were tied 1-1 at the end of regulation. Gardner gave the Lady Dragons a 1-0 lead in the first half.

The Lady Dragons finished as District 5-6A’s No. 1 seed and McKinney Boyd was the No. 4 seed from 6-6A.
