“We depend on each and every team and each and every person to make our event successful,” said Relay For Life of Southlake Event Chair, Kristie Millican. “Last year our event raised over $140,000 for American Cancer Society to continue this fight on behalf of our family and friends that have been faced with cancer.”

Millican says new and returning Team Captains help keep the spirit of Relay going from year to year. Team Captains are encouraged to attend upcoming meetings scheduled for Wed. March 19 and Wed. April 16 at the Carroll ISD Administration Center located at 2400 N. Carroll Avenue. Both meetings will be held from 6- 7 p.m.

Relay2014 (2)Relay For Life Southlake takes place on the football field and back parking lot of Carroll High School. The Relay Committee organizes the event to include a “midway” area of games, activities and food, while Relay is underway. An entertainment stage is set up on the field to entertain teams walking the track. This year in an effort to capture the full energy of the event, organizers say they will move campsites to the football field rather than outside the track. Team fundraising activities will take place at campsites to allow teams to continue to raise funds with fun activities that others can share.Relay2014 (3)
