Southlake Senior Center Celebrating Member’s 101 Birthday

Happy 101st Birthday to Southlake Senior Center Member Millie Stuck of Colleyville. A Senior Center member for several years now, Millie has been very active in Senior Center activities. From attending weekly lunches to participating in activities such as chair yoga and movie events Millie is a very familiar face.

Millie was born on April 8, 1915 in Mills County, TX. After graduating from high school in Goldthwaite, TX in 1933, she married her husband Bill in 1939. They moved to Fort Worth in 1944 and joined in the World War II efforts by working for what is now Lockheed Martin, building the experimental B-36 Peacemaker bomber aircrafts. As the war came to an end, she went to work as a dental assistant where she would spend the next 35 years working in the same dental office in Fort Worth. Millie continues to stay active as a member of the Red Hat Society, Whites Chapel UMC and the Senior Center. She also enjoys spending time with her two children, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She credits her age to staying active as volunteer and attending regular exercise sessions.

“Stay up, keep going and don’t sit down,” she says with a smile. Great advice, Millie.
