Mini-Huddle fall registration is now open!

The Mini-Huddle will introduce young children ages four and five to the game of football by teaching the basic fundamentals of the sport.

Participants will learn how to pass, receive, defend, rush, and other fun and exciting football skills in a well supervised environment. Teamwork, sportsmanship, and overall fun will be emphasized over direct competition.

Don’t miss the last day of the when the players will demonstrate the skills they have learned in the Skills Showcase. This program costs $45 which includes a jersey, trophy, and youth-size ball. Click here for more information or to register.

Mini-Kickers for ages 4-5 begins April 27, 2015

Little kids ages 4-5 learn the fundamentals of soccer in our Mini-Kickers program!

The City of Southlake Recreation is ready to introduce your children, ages 4-5, to soccer in a fun, friendly and safe environment at Mini-Kickers!

Practices will start Monday, April 27 and participants will meet every Monday and Wednesday at Durham Intermediate School until May 20. Mini-Kickers will introduce the basics of soccer like dribbling, passing and shooting by using creative and imaginative games. At each session children will increase their coordination and self-esteem by learning the foundations of soccer in a non-competitive environment. Teamwork, sportsmanship and overall FUN will be emphasized rather than direct competition. Parents, be sure to join us for the last day of the season as players will get the chance to show off their new skills in the Big Game.

Mini-Dribblers Basketball Program is Back!

Mini dribblersIt’s that time of year, the Spring Mini-Dribblers program is offered March 30 – April 22, 2015.  All four and five year olds are invited come learn about the game of basketball in a fun environment!

Boys and girls will learn the fundamentals of basketball including: shooting, dribbling, passing and rebounding. Mini-Dribblers emphasizes the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship and most of all, having FUN.  Let your superstar shine in this non-competitive environment while learning the game of basketball.

Practice will begin on Monday, March 30th. Participants will meet every Monday and Wednesday through April 22 at a time of your choice; 4:30 – 5:15 p.m. or 5:30 – 6:15 p.m.  Parents, be sure to join us on our final day of practice as our Mini-Dribblers showcase their skills in “The Big Game”.

One parent exclaimed, “[My child] loved his first Mini Dribbler Basketball experience!” in a recent Customer Satisfaction Survey.

Practice will begin on Monday, September 8. Teams will meet every Monday and Wednesday through October 1.  There are two different session times parents can choose from; 4:30 – 5:15 p.m. or 5:30 – 6:15 p.m.  Parents, be sure to join us on our final day of practice as our Mini Football Players demonstrate their skills in the “Skills Showcase.”
