Mini Dribblers Fall Registration Now Open

Mini Dribblers introduces boys and girls (ages 4-5 years old) to the game of basketball by teaching the basic fundamentals of the sport.

Participants will learn how to dribble, shoot, pass and other fun and exciting basketball skills in a well-supervised environment. Teamwork, sportsmanship and overall fun will be emphasized. Don’t miss the last day of the session when the players will demonstrate the skills they have learned in the “Big Game.” Cost includes a jersey, trophy and youth-sized ball.

Don’t miss out on Southlake’s popular basketball skills class designed just for preschoolers!

Mini Dribblers introduces children ages 4–5 to the fundamentals of the game of basketball. Little athletes will learn how to dribble, shoot, pass and more in a safe and well-supervised environment. Coaches use kid-friendly games and drills to help kids build their basic basketball skills, improve their coordination and practice good sportsmanship.

Be sure to bring your camera to the last day of class when players show off everything they’ve learned in the Big Game!

Southlake’s Spring Preschool Athletics Programs Offer Big Fun for Little Athletes

Sports are a great way for young children to make friends, build self-esteem and discover how rewarding it can be to live an active lifestyle.

Southlake Parks and Recreation offers two spring athletic programs designed specifically with preschoolers in mind! Mini Dribblers and Mini Kickers use creative games and kid-friendly drills to introduce preschoolers to the fundamentals of basketball and soccer. Children ages 4-5 will learn how to dribble, pass, shoot, kick and more! Each session will be well-supervised with an emphasis on teamwork, sportsmanship and overall fun. Don’t miss the last day of each session when players will demonstrate their skills in a “Big Game!”

Mini Dribblers This Fall

They shoot, they score! The City of Southlake would like to invite preschoolers, ages 4-5, to join us for Mini Dribblers this fall on Mondays and Wednesdays, October 16-November 8.

Mini-Dribblers will introduce children ages four and five to the game of basketball by teaching the basic fundamentals of the sport. Participants will learn how to dribble, shoot and pass, during fun and exciting basketball drills and activities in a well supervised environment. Teamwork, sportsmanship and overall fun will be emphasized over direct competition.

Practice will begin on Monday, October 16. Mini Dribblers will meet every Monday and Wednesday through November 8. Two sessions of the program are offered; 4:30p.m. – 5:15p.m. or 5:30p.m. – 6:15p.m. At the end of the four week program, players will demonstrate the skills they have learned in the Big Game.

 This program costs $45 which includes a jersey, trophy and youth-size ball. Click here for more information or to register.

Mini Dribblers and Mini Kickers season is nearly here

If you’re looking for a great way to get your 4 or 5 year old interested in athletics, mini dribblers and mini kickers would be the way! Both of these programs are great introductions to team athletics and most importantly, they’re a great chance for your child to have fun.

The mini dribblers program runs from March 21 – April 13. Mini dribblers introduces children to the game of basketball by teaching the basic fundamentals of the sport. Participants will learn how to dribble, shoot, pass, and other fun basketball skills in a well-supervised environment. Above all, teamwork, sportsmanship and fun will be emphasized.

The mini kickers program runs from April 25 – May 18. Mini kickers introduces the fundamentals of soccer with dribbling, passing and shooting, using creative and imaginative games for children. The sessions will focus on learning the foundations of soccer while also emphasizing teamwork, sportsmanship, and fun.

Southlake Recreation Mini-Dribblers Preschool Program

Back by popular demand, the Parks and Recreation’s Mini-Dribblers program is being offered this spring from March 18th – April 10th. All four and five year olds are invited come learn about the game of basketball in a fun environment!

Boys and girls will learn the fundamentals of basketball including: shooting, dribbling, passing, rebounding and defending. Mini-Dribblers emphasizes the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship and most of all, having FUN.  Let your superstar shine in this non-competitive environment while learning the game of basketball.

Practice will begin on Monday, March 18th. Teams will meet every Monday and Wednesday through April 10th.  Parents, be sure to join us on our final day of practice as our Mini-Dribblers showcase their skills in “The Big Game.”
